Five Virginia wrestlers compete in weekend invitational meets

Five of Virginia's wrestlers competed in two events over the weekend, compiling a 16-6 record with three falls and two major victories.

Freshman Brain Foley, freshman Kyle Narkiewicz, junior Andrew Leffler and sophomore Connor Manley all competed in VMI's Keydet Invitational.

Foley won his weight class, finishing with a record of 4-0 for the invitational. Leffler finished 2-1 and Narkiewicz finished 4-1, as they both took third place in their respective weight classes. Despite not placing, Manly managed to pull out a victory and finish the invitational 1-2.

Junior Will Durkee headed north to compete in the Eastern Michigan Open.Durkee placed fourth in his class, winning five of his six opening matches before falling in the consolation championship to junior R.J. Boudro of Michigan.

The Cavaliers will open the regular season Nov. 8 in the Michigan State Open.
