Scott Moore named ACC Wrestler of the Week

Graduate student Scott Moore was named ACC Wrestler of the Week for the third time this season, after finishing first in his weight class in the 2004 Virginia Intercollegiate State Wrestling Championship.

Golfing recruit signs

The Virginia men's golf teamsigned a valuable recruit in Greg Carlin of Kensington, Md. Carlin was named to this year's AJGA HP Scholastic Junior All-American Team.

Cavs host red-hot Terrapin squad

The Virginia Cavaliers, coming off two crucial wins last weekend, will square off with the Maryland Terrapins today in Memorial Gymnasium. Maryland (17-4, 6-1 ACC) comes into town on a four-game tear, sporting the second-best ACC record behind Georgia Tech.

Virginia blows past North Carolina, 38-13

Riding the arm of Matt Schaub and the legs of Wali Lundy, the Virginia Cavaliers (4-1, 3-0 ACC) walked over a struggling UNC team (0-5, 0-3), 38-13, Saturday at Chapel Hill. Despite taking the early advantage off a field goal from senior kicker Dan Orner, UNC could not overcome the play of its defense -- rated the worst in the nation -- and eventually crumbled from the pressure of the Cavaliers' offensive attack.

Cavs stumble, recover to top Duke at home

The Virginia women's volleyball team (17-1, 1-1 ACC) were handed a mixed bag of emotions this weekend, suffering their first loss of the season against Wake Forest (11-3, 1-1 ACC) Friday night, then rebounding over Duke (4-10, 0-2 ACC) the next day.
