Women's basketball falls at Georgia Tech

The Virginia women's basketball team three-game win streak was snapped Thursday night in Atlanta, as the Cavaliers fell 65-55 to Georgia Tech.

The loss dropped Virginia (12-11, 5-6 ACC) below .500 in conference for the first time since losing at home to North Carolina on January 29. Forward Brandi Teamer led all Cavaliers in scoring with 14, followed by guard LaTonya Blue, who chipped in with 12.

The Yellow Jackets (12-11, 3-8) attacked Virginia using a core of only six players who logged at least 12 minutes. All five starters logged 28 minutes or more for Georgia Tech, who entered the contest dwelling at the bottom of the ACC. The Jackets were coming off an 81-41 drubbing at the hands of No. 2 Duke.
