Virginia runners take medals at Raleigh Relays

The men's relay teams led the Cavaliers in the Raleigh Relays this weekend, taking home the gold medal in the sprint medley and the bronze in the 4x800. Kevin Carson, Isi Azeke, Kellen Blassingame and McGavock Dunbar won the medley by finishing in 3:23.02, defeating the second-place team by more than two seconds.

At the meet, several athletes topped their season bests. Five women -- Ashley Gore, Janine Ricci, Cheryl Carr, Lauren Taggart and Caroline Harvey -- all improved on their best performances in 2004 for Virginia.
