In Durham this weekend, Virginia's David Sullivan set a new personal best in the pole vault with a height of 16' 8.75" to win the first of two titles for the Cavaliers.
Javelin thrower Inge Jorgenson also won her competition with a toss of 163' 4", a successful performance for the former ACC champion and All-American.
Jason Young won the men's 200-meter developmental race with a time of 21.67 seconds. Teammate Kellen Blassingame, who took third in the 200-meter race, broke a 25-year school record in the 400 meter with a time of 46.76. The former Virginia record in that race was set in 1979 by Jim Bruce with a time of 46.94.
Caroline Harvey also finished near the top of several events for the Cavaliers, including fourth place in the 100 meter with a time of 12.12 and eighth in the long jump with a leap of 18' 10.75". Harvey and teammate Erin Crawford each set season bests yesterday in the 200-meter and 400-meter races, respectively.
