Wake names Peterson women's basketball coach

Wake Forest athletic direction Ron Wellman announced yesterday that Mike Peterson will serve as the new head coach for the Demon Deacon's women's basketball team.

Peterson has served as an assistant coach for the University of Minnesota men's team for the past five years. Prior to his stint with the Golden Gophers, Peterson worked for three seasons as the head coach of the Texas Christian University women's team, where he guided the team to its first-ever winning season. Peterson has also served as a women's head coach at New Mexico State University and Gonzaga University and as an assistant at the University of Oregon.
