Northwestern named Virginia men's basketball opponent in this fall's ACC/Big Ten Challenge

The Cavaliers will travel to Chicago to take on Northwestern in this year's ACC/Big Ten Challenge. The game will take place Dec. 1 at 9:30 p.m.

The ACC has won the Commissioner's Cup all five previous years of the competition's existence, last year winning seven of the nine games. The Cavaliers prevailed at home over Minnesota last season, defeating the Golden Gophers 86-78.

Virginia is 2-2 in the Challenge, with their 2001 game against Michigan State cancelled early in the second half due to wet floor conditions in the Richmond Coliseum.
