Women's basketball rebounds with win against Maine

In the second game of the Women's Sports Foundation Classic, Virginia evened its season record to 1-1 with a 72-62 win over Maine. With the win, Virginia earned third-place in the tournament behind Arizona State and No. 2 Louisiana State.

Against the Black Bears, senior guard LaTonya Blue had a game-high 17 points and senior center Brandi Teamer scored an additional 16. Virginia was highly successful from behind the three-point line, as the Cavaliers drained 10 three-pointers, one off the school record. Sophomore Brenna McGuire alone notched four from the behind the arc. Virginia returns to University Hall tomorrow night for an exhibition game against UMMC Ekateringburg.
