Softball goes .500 at weekend tourney

The Virginia softball team (4-5) split four games over the weekend at the Holiday Inn Green & White Tournament in Charlotte, NC. The Cavaliers started off the weekend with a come-from-behind victory over Temple, 5-4. Junior third baseman Sara Laquier drove in the go-ahead run in the 5th inning with a triple to right field. Virginia dropped the second contest of the day, 7-5, to tournament host UNC-Charlotte. Sunday the Cavs fell to eventual tournament champions Kent State, 8-3, before avenging Saturday's loss to Charlotte with a 4-1 victory over the 49ers.
