Spinner's stint as a 'Skin may be coming to an end

Former Cavalier quarterback Bryson Spinner opened training camp for the Washington Redskins on Monday throwing passes with quarterbacks Mark Brunell and Patrick Ramsey, but the signing of first round pick Jason Campbell means Spinner's stay with Washington is likely to wrap up soon.

Skinner, who played for George Welsh and Al Groh in 2000 and 2001 transferred to Division IAA Richmond and finished out his college playing career there. He had brief stints with Jacksonville and Seattle last season before landing with the Redskins as a free agent on May 5. Campbell's arrival in camp leaves Spinner as the No. 4 quarterback for Washington, making his chances of staying with the team past training camp unlikely.

At Virginia, Spinner shared the starting job at quarterback with Matt Schaub during the 2001 season, when the Cavaliers finished with a 5-7 record. During his senior season at Richmond he completed 135 of 250 passes and threw for 1,712 yards and 10 touchdowns in eight games.
