Former Virginia men's tennis All-American Brian Vahaly claimed his second singles title of the season after winning last week's event in Calabasas, California.

En route to capturing the title, Vahaly defeated four players ranked in the top 200 of the world rankings. His run for the title included a win in the final match over the tournament's No. 1 seed, Justin Gimelstob.

Vahaly, who graduated from the University in 2001, is currently ranked No. 147 in the world and will continue play at the Challenger Tour event this week.
