Two Cavaliers earn ACC honors

Two Virginia soccer players earned ACC Player of the Week honors, which were announced Monday.

Jess Rostedt helped the women's side to two 1-0 victories last week over ACC opponents Florida State and Miami. Rostedt scored the Cavaliers' only goal against No. 10 Florida State and got the assist on Sarah Curtis' goal against Miami. The honor is the first of Rostedt's career.

Cavalier men's goalkeeper Ryan Burke also was given the conference honor after leading Virginia to two consecutive shutout wins, one of which was over No. 2 North Carolina. Burke leads the ACC in shutouts on the season with seven.

In addition to ACC Player of the Week, Burke was named to the College Soccer News National Team of the Week.
