It's what is on the inside that counts

Ladies and gentlemen, I have seen the promised land ... and it has a sweet hot tub.

At last week's basketball media day, all eyes (and cameras, recorders and microphones) were focused on this season's undisputed backcourt golden boys: junior Sean Singletary and senior J.R. Reynolds. Some might consider these two lucky. Sure they'll be the stars of a hyped-up Cavalier squad that finally has a full roster of scholarship players. This also might be the year they attract a little NBA attention (always a good answer to that pesky "what to do after graduation" question). Overall, it seems like a good time to be a starting guard in Charlottesville.

The University’s Orientation and Transition programs are vital to supporting first year and transfer students throughout their entire transition to college. But much of their work goes into planning summer orientation sessions. Funlola Fagbohun, associate director of the first year experience, describes her experience working with OTP and how she strives to create a welcoming environment for first-years during orientation and beyond. Along with her role as associate director, summer Orientation leaders and OTP staff work continually to provide a safe and memorable experience for incoming students.
