Wright wins eighth ACC Rookie of the Week honor

Women's basketball freshman Monica Wright was named ACC Rookie of the Week for the eighth time this season. Against Georgia Tech, Wright was Virginia's top scorer with 12 points. In Virginia's win Sunday over Clemson, Wright picked up 24 points.

Wright is second on the team with 14.9 ppg and 65 assists. She leads the squad with 67 steals.

With eight ACC Rookie of the Week honors, Wright has become Virginia's most decorated freshman in school history. She recently passed Brandi Teamer, who had six in 2001.
