Cavaliers collect honors

Basketball Virginia men's basketball coach Dave Leitao was named ACC Coach of the year after leading the Cavaliers to a 20-10 record in his second season at the helm. The Cavaliers finished in tied for first place in the ACC after being predicted to finish eighth.

Junior Sean Singletary was named thirdteam All-American this season by the National Association of Basketball Coaches. Only 15 players total are named to the three teams nationally.

Senior J.R. Reynolds and Singletary were both named to All-ACC teams. Singletary was named to the first team and Reynolds was named to the second.

Men's Lacrosse

Virginia junior Ben Rubeor was named ACC player of the week yesterday. Against VMI last week, Rubeor matched his career high with five goals. Against Princeton, Rubeor scored the game-winning goal with 25 seconds remaining. Rubeor is second in the ACC in scoring, goals and assists.

Women's Track and Field

Virginia triple jumper Tomika Ferguson was awarded All-America honors for thesecond consecutive season this week.
