Thanks and best wishes

Before preparing for finals and summer break, we want to thank certain graduating fourth years who have improved this paper in so many ways.

Mike Slaven, the 117th editor-in-chief, led the paper through difficult times with poise and professionalism. From editing to design, there was not a section of this paper he did not improve. He will be remembered for his relentless pursuit of perfection, assuming he ever leaves the office.

Few people were as selflessly dedicated to the paper as 117th Managing Editor Alex Sellinger. Alex came to work each day with the same outstanding level of passion and commitment. He is a man of wisdom beyond his years.

It is difficult to overstate the contribution of former Chief Financial Officer Kathleen Meyers, who overcame enormous challenges in a thankless job. Kathleen remained a role model for the staff and her friends.

Tim Lee, 116th chief financial officer, maintained steadfast dedication in a difficult job, all the while managing to entertain his office mates with an infectious sense of humor.

We will miss former Sports Editor and Assistant Managing Editor Elizabeth Newell, who brought unparalleled excellence to every position she held. Her fellow assistant managing editor, Michelle Jamrisko, always sought new challenges and ways to improve the paper, which she tackled with enthusiasm.

Some of you know Advertising Manager Christina Stavridis from her PSAs urging you to make someone a sandwich. But she will also be remembered for taking her job far beyond what was expected of her and doing so with.

Few people would wake up at 2:00 a.m. to chase down a story with a commitment matched only by his talent for journalism. News Editor Chris Hall did just that. In fact, he brought the same level of excitement to the office every day.

We will miss Production Editor Lee Sullivan's brilliant eye for design and unwavering commitment to making the paper better. Speaking of brilliance, Graphics Editor John McNamee brought his wit and keen eye for drawing, brightening spirits along the way.

Sports Editor Matt Boucher will be remembered for his excellent editing and writing ability. Photography Editor David Ganske stepped up to the plate with a positive attitude and creativity.

Steph Shaw did an excellent job as first-year production editor and maintained a connection to the paper working in other sections. And, as Life Editor, Hannah Woolf kept morale as high as the quality of her page. Also, Sports Editor Clayton O'Toole kept it real and took the Sports section to new heights.

Few staffers are as cool as Tableau Editor Molly Seltzer, who broadened the paper's content and quality. No square himself, fellow Tableau Editor Preston Gisch was always ready to offer his advice and friendship.

Online editor Jessica Black went well beyond the rather unpleasant job of waking every morning at 5:00 a.m. to make sure the paper appeared as it should. She also took the time to come into the office to boost morale, even when she didn't need to.

We owe our graduating fourth years our deepest gratitude and best wishes for the future.
