Clemson upset No. 4 Virginia 2-1 Friday in South Carolina, breaking the Cavaliers' seven-game win streak.

In its first ACC loss of the season, Virginia (7-2-2, 1-1-2 ACC) had 16 shots on the game, but Clemson (5-7-2, 1-1-2 ACC) had 9 saves. Virginia coach George Gelnovatch noted that Virginia's multiple opportunities to score a second goal were thwarted by a strong Clemson defense.

Virginia returns to Klöckner Stadium Tuesday to host Florida Atlantic.
