The top-ranked Virginia men's tennis team (19-0, 5-0 ACC) continued its dominant play with a 6-1 victory against ACC rival Clemson (10-10, 0-2 ACC) on the road Sunday. The win allowed Virginia to keep its undefeated record intact with six matches remaining in the regular season.
The top-ranked doubles team of seniors Somdev Devvarman and Treat Huey dismissed Clemson's top team 8-0. The No. 26 team of sophomore Houston Barrick and junior Dominic Inglot suffered a close defeat, losing to Clemson's duo of junior Kevin Fleck and sophomore Carlos Alvarez in a close 9-8 decision.
Devvarman, Barrick and Huey joined sophomore Lee Singer and freshman Sanam Singh in winning their singles matches. Inglot recorded Virginia's only singles loss on the day, running out of gas after taking the first set from Clemson sophomore Gera Boryachinskiy.
Virginia's next match is against Miami (9-4, 2-2 ACC) at home Friday at 3 p.m.
