Show some class

I graduated from the University 10 years ago. I chose to stay here in Charlottesville to live and work. I enjoy this town and the surrounding area, and I love the University. My husband and I own a home outside of town and own two businesses. I am now officially a townie.
When University students go out into Charlottesville and the surrounding area, I expect that you would conduct yourselves with some class. You do not always have a good name in town when you show yourselves to be spoiled, entitled, privileged children. You are reinforcing all the negatives that the people who live and work here think about you. Please show some maturity and class.
To that end, please refrain from sitting in public places and bashing the townies. Those townies — they can hear you. They are the ones servicing your car, delivering your mail and making sure your college runs well. Some of them make your food. Remember that next time you sit down in a restaurant and tell a story about the “f******” townies. We can all hear you.
