Starr Hill sublet re-opens as Si
For those who remember the Star Hill bar and music joint, the space reopened last week as Richmond-based tapas restaurant Si. The upstairs has opened as a bar and music venue called Is. While the restaurant goes head to head with neighboring tapas digs Mas, Is looks to revamp the faltering West Main music scene. Is was christened last Thursday with various local bands — including the Sometimes Favorites and Sweetbriar. The space, while colorful and tastefully decorated, is sparsely filled. Nevertheless, the restaurant/music hall hopes to inject a bit of life back into a slowly fading strip of Charlottesville.
