Matt Conover's article (Wednesday) regarding the tailgate procedures for the Lawn and Range gives half (or less) of the whole story and smears people who have worked tirelessly to permit students to engage in activities which the University is completely within their rights to prohibit. As a resident of the Range, I wish - just like anyone else who lives here - that we didn't have to worry about how many people we invited or how we were going to get our wristbands back, but the fact is that the Head Resident of the Lawn and Dean of Students have been bending over backwards to let us host these parties extending outside of our rooms and into a historic, fragile, and protected space. Having friends over to our room is our right as residents and rent-payers. Hosting 40, much less an entire CIO or Greek organization, on the other hand, is certainly not included in our rights. We are lucky to have that privilege.
