The No. 9 men and No. 11 women swim and dive teams will resume ACC action this weekend at Duke and North Carolina.
The Cavaliers (5-1, 2-0 ACC) hope to pick up where they left off last Thursday when they defeated nationally-ranked Florida State, 161-134 and 163-123, respectively. The Tar Heels should pose a stiffer challenge than Duke, which sits in the middle of the pack in the ACC. Both Carolina teams sit atop the ACC standings, and the men are undefeated. The No. 14 men (8-0, 4-0 ACC) and No. 15 women (7-1, 4-0) are both coming off decisive victories against Clemson and are the teams Virginia must beat to attain conference supremacy. It is fitting that first place is on the line in the meet at Chapel Hill, as the Virginia-North Carolina rivalry is widely regarded as one of the best in collegiate swimming.
