Paulisha Kellum found an opportune time to score the final two of her three points on the night. The junior guard's two-point basket with four seconds remaining gave No. 22 Virginia a 70-68 lead and eventually a road win against Boston College last night.
Senior guard Monica Wright pulled the weight offensively for the Cavaliers (13-5, 2-2) for most of the game, scoring a career-high 39 points on 13-of-29 shooting. The Eagles (11-8, 2-2 ACC), however, overcame a four-point first-half deficit and took a nine-point lead with 10:42 left in the game. An 8-0 Virginia run closed the gap to within one, but the Cavaliers only evened the game with 35 seconds left on the clock, when Wright made two free throws. Boston College quickly tied the game when fifth-year senior guard Brittanny Johnson made a lay-up with 16 seconds left. Kellum's game-winning shot resulted in Virginia's first lead of the half since the 15:39 mark.
