Virginia athletes earned several individual accolades this weekend. Both the women's soccer team's senior midfielder Sinead Farrelly and field hockey sophomore forward Tara Puffenberger were named ACC Players of the Week for their performances. In addition, Puffenberger went on to be named National Player of the Week by womensfieldhockey.com. This marks the second consecutive week a Virginia field hockey player has been named conference player of the week, with junior midfielder Paige Selenski having won the honor last week. Puffenberger scored four goals this weekend, leading the No. 3 Cavaliers to wins against No. 9 Syracuse and No. 12 Ohio State. Against the Buckeyes, Puffenberger notched her first career hat trick in the 4-2 victory. Farrelly followed suit, scoring three goals in Virginia's wins against Texas and Boston University en route to winning the Virginia Nike Soccer Classic and subsequently being named MVP. Both the field hockey and women's soccer team are undefeated thus far and will continue non-conference play this weekend.\n
