Cavs fall short against Eagles

The men's basketball team dropped its second consecutive ACC road game last night, falling to Boston College, 70-67. Virginia was able to overcome a 13-point deficit late in the first half and close the gap to six at halftime. The Cavaliers (10-8, 1-3 ACC) took the lead with 7:47 left in the second half but were unable to maintain it, eventually losing to the Eagles (14-5, 4-1 ACC).

Senior guard Mustapha Farrakhan led Virginia with 14 points and four assists. He was followed by freshman guard KT Harrell with 13 points and junior center Assane Sene and freshman guard Joe Harris, who scored 11 points each. Senior forward Joe Trapani led the Eagles with 18 points on 7-for-14 shooting on the night. The Cavaliers were able to outshoot the Eagles from the field, but Boston College managed 13 more free throw attempts. The Eagles also capitalized on the Cavaliers' seven turnovers, converting them into 13 points.

Virginia will now return home to face Georgia Tech Saturday at 12 p.m.
