Tech of the week: Google's Body Browser

What: A Google Earth-like experience for the human body called the Body Browser that doesn't require any plug-ins. The anatomy of the body will be shown in great detail, including muscles, organs, bones, the circulatory system and the nervous system.

Who: The Body Browser lets the user zoom and rotate around an adult human body. The programmers also included an impressive search function that takes the user straight to the highlighted, labeled body part.

The Future: Along with working out some kinks in getting the application to work, the Google team plans to add a male form in addition to the existing navigable female form. Detailed illustrations of the human anatomy, once seen only in anatomy and physiology textbooks, will be available to anybody with Internet access.
