Squad prepares for follow-up act

Cavaliers begin quest to earn program

After months of conditioning, intra-squad matches and indoor training, the Virginia softball team eagerly is anticipating the start of competitive play. This weekend, the restless Cavaliers finally will get their wish granted as they head to the Campbell Hampton Inn Tournament to battle Southern Illinois Edwardsville, Campbell and Drexel.

"I think we're tired of playing each other, the pitchers are tired of throwing to our hitters, and our hitters are tired of hitting our pitchers," coach Eileen Schmidt said.
