Describe yourself in one sentence.\nI don't know if I can... I just answered 29 questions describing myself...

Gloria: I did [the Love Connection Survey] for fun, not really expecting that I would actually go on a date. I did it so long ago; I did it in September. I kind of thought that it wasn't going to happen, because it was already March. I was surprised.

Adam: I was wondering who it was going to be. It was kind of sudden. I wasn't expecting at all to get picked for it. I applied last semester and had totally forgotten. Mostly, I was like, "please don't be horrible," and she was fine so it wasn't a big deal. That's the thing I was most nervous about: her being completely awful.

Gloria: We were supposed to meet at the Rotunda at 6:30. We actually arrived at exactly the same time.

Adam: It was kind of desolate. I was standing there, and she came down from the top of the rotunda. She yelled at me from way far away. She was like, "Are you Adam?" I was like, "Yeah, I think so."

Gloria: He was very fratty, which isn't a bad thing. I was just kind of surprised. He seemed really nice.

Adam: I was a little surprised because she was really short. I usually go for tall girls, but she was really cute. So, I wasn't disappointed.

Gloria: We originally wanted to go to Boylan, because I'd actually never eaten there. We went to Boylan, but there was a 20-minute wait and I was kind of hungry. So we ended up going to Michael's Bistro. I had never been there either, but it was really good.

Adam: I wanted to go to Taco Bell - just kidding. I asked her first. She said she wanted to go somewhere she'd never been before. She said she'd never been to Boylan. I was surprised, because I thought it was a staple of the Corner. We went there, but the line was too long and she didn't want to wait. So, my first choice was Michael's Bistro, because I'd never been there. So we went there. We actually walked past it and got lost a little bit, you know, because it's in a little corner. But we eventually found it and walked upstairs. We went in and it was really nice.

Gloria: [We talked about how] I do Air Force ROTC, and his parents are in the Air Force. He's from Tennessee. So we talked about where we wanted to live, like a big city or where he grew up. We both like running.

Adam: She drives a bus, which I thought was really cool. We talked about how that was. I asked if she was the girl that crashed into Beta Bridge. She wasn't. So that was a relief. It would have been really awkward if she was. She used to live in China - which I thought was amazing - and California. We talked a lot about that.

Gloria: It was good conversation though; there weren't too many awkward pauses or anything. There was maybe one moment where he asked me a question and I had just taken a bite. I had to awkwardly finish chewing. But I mean that happens all the time. It wasn't that bad.

Adam: There weren't any really awkward moments. There were a couple times when we were quiet, looking over the menu and stuff, but it wasn't like, "God, get me out of here". I think it was like normal date stuff.

Gloria: I had to be up early the next day. We were walking towards the same place.

Adam: I didn't know where she lived. She told me, but I forgot. So I was kind of like, "Which way are you going?" We ended up walking up the Corner and walking down Rugby. We split on Beta Bridge. We didn't even hug. I wanted that hug, but no, she denied me. It was kind of like bye, and we parted.

Gloria: His frat was having a toga party [the next day], and he was like, "Yeah, you should come." I was like, "Yeah I might drop by or whatever." Then we just parted ways. We didn't exchange numbers. I think it was that awkward thing where neither one of us was sure what the other was thinking. No one wanted to seem too forward. That's what I perceived it as.

Adam: I didn't really think I'd ever see her again, but she emailed me after the date was over and she said she was coming to our fraternity party the next night, so I might see her there.

Gloria: I'd give it a 7 or 8. Overall it was a good match. At least our interests aligned. It was kind of hard to tell [if there was any chemistry]. There was maybe a little bit. I could see us potentially hanging out tonight if we bump into each other or something.

Adam: I'd say a 6 or a 7. It wasn't bad by any means. It was fun. We didn't really have a spark or a lot in common, so I couldn't seeing us going out long term or anything. But I'd be glad to hang out with her again.

The two met up at Adam's fraternity party and might bump into each other again soon.
