-Love is a Mix Tape

Now settled in Brooklyn, the renowned author and music journalist was a University student back in the '80s and even met his late wife while living in Charlottesville. Much of his first book, the bestselling Love is a Mix Tape: Life and Loss, One song at a Time, is based in C-ville and chronicles his time at U.Va. and after until the death of his wife in 1997. He has since remarried, and he released his second book, Talking to Girls About Duran Duran: One Young Man's Quest for True Love and a Cooler Haircut, in 2010. In addition, he is a contributing editor for Rolling Stone.
