Cavs host ITA Regional

After claiming two singles titles during last weekend's U.Va. Fall Classic, the Virginia men's tennis team returns to the Snyder Tennis Center tomorrow to host the ITA Atlantic Regional.

The four-day tournament features qualifying players from Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C. Winners from a single-elimination doubles and singles flight earn automatic bids to the ITA National Individual Indoors tournament Nov. 3 to 6 in New York.

Last year, Virginia's junior Jarmere Jenkins claimed the singles title and teamed with sophomore Alex Domijan to capture the doubles championship. Domijan entered the 2011 season ranked No. 1 nationally in preseason polls, and No. 18 Jenkins has netted personal wins at the U.Va. Ranked+1 Invitational and Purnell-Thomas Memorial Tennis Tournament this fall.

Joining Jenkins and Domijan, sophomore Justin Shane and senior Philippe Oudshoorn will play this weekend after winning their respective single flights last Sunday. Each of Virginia's 12 players will compete Thursday, except freshman Mitchell Frank who previously qualified for the National Indoors with a win at the ITA All-American Championships.
