Life of a saleswoman

It's been a while since I offered my unsolicited advice on something, so I figured I was overdue. As a second-semester fourth year, I spend a lot of my time worrying about the hazy "next year." Where will I be? What will I do? The jury is still out on those questions. But wherever I am and whatever I do, I now know how I will act.

After almost nine months of sales experience with my internship, I have figured out a few behaviors, which prove helpful in the world of sales - and let's be honest no matter what you do, sales is your business somehow. At the very least, you always have to sell yourself when applying for jobs.

The University’s Orientation and Transition programs are vital to supporting first year and transfer students throughout their entire transition to college. But much of their work goes into planning summer orientation sessions. Funlola Fagbohun, associate director of the first year experience, describes her experience working with OTP and how she strives to create a welcoming environment for first-years during orientation and beyond. Along with her role as associate director, summer Orientation leaders and OTP staff work continually to provide a safe and memorable experience for incoming students.
