Senior midfielder Danielle Colaprico was named ACC Midfielder of the Year after starting all 18 games this season and leading the ACC with 14 assists.

The No. 4 Virginia women’s soccer team placed five players on All-ACC teams after finishing the regular season 17-1-0 with a 9-1-0 conference record. Headlining the five All-ACC selections was senior Danielle Colaprico, who was named ACC Midfielder of the Year.

ACC head coaches voted Colaprico the best midfielder in the conference after she started all 18 games for the Cavaliers, marking the second straight year she has been an All-ACC selection. The senior leads the ACC with 14 assists, which ties a Virginia single-season record. Additionally, she has scored a career-high six goals and 26 points, which ranks fourth in the ACC.

Joining Colaprico on the All-ACC first team is senior midfielder Morgan Brian and junior forward Makenzy Doniak. Brian, despite only playing in 10 games this season because she was playing for the U.S. national team, still managed to score six goals and five assists. She also became the fourth player in school history to be honored as a four-time All-ACC first team selection.

Doniak, who was selected to the All-ACC first team last season, scored 13 goals and notched eight assists on the season. She led the ACC in scoring with 34 points, including a goal in each of the last six games.

In addition to the first team selections, junior defender Emily Sonnett was voted to the second team and junior forward Brittany Ratcliffe was named to the third team.

Virginia opens play in the ACC tournament Friday against North Carolina. The game will be played in Greensboro, North Carolina at 8 p.m., and can be viewed on ESPN3.
