Senior George DiCamillo's bonus points proved decisive against Gardner-Webb, extending his winning streak to seven straight matches.

The Virginia wrestling team will head on the road this weekend to compete in a pair of dual matches at Gardner-Webb Friday at 7 p.m. and No. 25 Chattanooga Sunday at 1 p.m.

After a successful performance at the MAT Open last weekend, the Cavaliers (2-2) will look to improve its performance in one-on-one matches this weekend.

Virginia currently has three ranked wrestlers, with freshman Jack Mueller coming in at No. 15 at 125 pounds, senior George DiCamillo coming in at No. 10 at 141 pounds and junior Andrew Atkinson coming in at No. 17 at 157 pounds.

Virginia’s last dual competition against Lock Haven and Maryland was a step forward for the Cavaliers, whose strong performance resulted in their first two wins of the season. Virginia lost its first two dual meets against Michigan, 24-9, and Central Michigan, 22-10.

After the dual meets this weekend, Virginia will not return to action until a Dec. 21 match against George Mason.
