Man arrested after shots fired on Grounds

A Charlottesville resident has been charged with attempted malicious wounding

University Police arrested Charlottesville resident Anthony Lyle Lee Jr. Saturday, after a verbal altercation led to shots fired. He was charged with attempted malicious wounding and is being held at the Albemarle Charlottesville Regional Jail.

According to a release from the University Police Department, the shots were made around 10:15 a.m. from a vehicle in the 400 block of Massie Road. The verbal conflict had begun at the 7-11 on Ivy Road.

There were no injuries, and nobody involved was affiliated with the University.

UPD requests that anyone with relevant information calls the department at 434-924-7166. Anonymous tips can be sent by texting “UVATIPS” to 274637.
