Third-year College student Robbie Eriksson passed away Sept. 21, interim Dean of Student Julie Caruccio shared in a community-wide email Thursday.

Eriksson graduated from Sherando High School in Stephen’s City, Va. At the University, he was double majoring in economics and cognitive science, with a minor in computer science.

In addition to being co-president of the Econ Club, Eriksson was a member of Pi Lambda Phi fraternity and lived with his fraternity brothers this year. He previously also worked as a caller for Cavalier Connect.

“He was so incredibly intelligent,” one of Eriksson’s fraternity brothers shared. “I always admired how organized he was and how clearly he could convey his ideas and goals. But above all his kindness is what made me admire him the most.”

Eriksson is survived by his parents, Charolette and Robert, and his two sisters Lauren and Annie. His family hopes that those struggling with mental health will seek help.

“He was very witty and could easily make us laugh out loud with his unique perspective on all things,” Eriksson’s mother, Charolette, said. “He wrote poetry and told his sister it brings solace to his soul.”
