Burglary reported in the 600 block of Cabell Ave

The Charlottesville Police Department responded to a report of a burglary early Tuesday morning at 2:55 a.m. in the 600 block of Cabell Ave, per a community alert sent by Timothy Longo, chief of the University Police Department and vice president for security and safety. 

Per the alert, a male wearing a black jacket entered the residence and left in an unknown direction on foot. No additional description of the subject was provided. No weapons were seen and nothing was reported as stolen.

This is the second community alert and second reported burglary since the semester started — the first incident occurred in the 300 block of 14th Street NW.

“Community alerts” are shared with the University community when there is sufficient and timely information that can be released to the community without compromising any on-going investigations. “Timely warnings” are sent when a threat poses an “on-going threat” to the safety of the community.
