Burglary reported to the CPD in 1400 block of Virginia Avenue

The suspect was described as wearing a ski mask

The Charlottesville Police Department responded to a burglary Wednesday at 3:53 a.m. in the 1400 block of Virginia Avenue, according to a community alert sent by Timothy Longo, chief of the University Police Department and vice president for security and safety.

The suspect entered the home before leaving in an unknown direction and was wearing a ski mask, per the alert. 

This is the first community alert since June 2, when the community was notified of an aggravated assault. 

Community alerts are shared via email to the University community when there is timely information about a threat that can be released to the community without compromising any ongoing investigations. Timely Warnings are issued when there is an ongoing threat to the community.
