Burglary and Peeping Tom incident reported to CPD

The incidents occured in the 400 block of 13th street and 700 block of Madison Avenue, respectively

The suspect of the “peeping Tom” incident was reported to be peering into windows and was described as wearing a ski mask, white t-shirt and black Adidas sweatpants, per the alert. 

The Charlottesville Police Department responded to a burglary Saturday at 4:59 a.m. in the 400 block of 13th street and a Peeping Tom incident Saturday at 5:06 a.m. in the 700 block of Madison Avenue, per two community alerts sent by Timothy Longo, chief of the University Police Department and vice president for security and safety.

The suspect of the Peeping Tom incident was reported to be peering into windows and was described as wearing a ski mask, white t-shirt and black Adidas sweatpants, per the alert. 

The suspect of the burglary entered the home before leaving in an unknown direction and was reported as a tall male with a buzz cut and joggers.

These community alerts are the first since a robbery was reported on June 29 and the first alerts of July. 

Community alerts are shared via email to the University community when there is timely information about a threat that can be released to the community without compromising any ongoing investigations. Timely Warnings are issued when there is an ongoing threat to the community.
