The University Police Department has asked the community for any information they might have on a burglary that took place this morning. According to a community alert sent by Timothy Longo, chief of the University Police Department and vice president for security and safety, the burglary took place at 10 in the morning and was initially reported as a larceny before video footage determined it was a burglary.
The suspect is reportedly a 40 to 50 year old male with a medium build and a shaved head, according to the community alert. The community alert also said the suspect was wearing a gray long-sleeved shirt with dark-colored pants. No weapons or threats were reported.
This is the first community alert of March.
Longo said that anybody who might have information pertinent to the case should contact the University Police Department at (434) 924-7166.
Community alerts are shared via email to the University community when there is timely information about a threat that can be released to the community without compromising any ongoing investigations.
