The top-ranked Cavalier men’s tennis team fell to North Carolina in the ITA National Men’s Indoor final Monday. As the tournament’s top seed, Virginia was favored over the third-seeded Tar Heels, but ultimately suffered a hard-fought loss by a final score of 4-2. This defeat was a historic one, as it ended Virginia’s unprecedented 140 game ACC winning streak.

The No. 7 Virginia women’s tennis team played two hard-fought matches at the ITA National Team Indoors Friday and Saturday. Hosted by the Wisconsin, the tournament features many of the nation’s top teams. The Cavalier’s advanced past No. 9 Texas A&M with a 4-1 win, but fell against No. 6 California with a 4-1 defeat.

The No. 1 Virginia men’s tennis team (4-0) continued to roll as it dominated a pair of matches Saturday. In a double header, the Cavaliers swept both Elon (2-3) and Furman (2-3) on the Boyd Tinsley Courts at the Boar’s Head Sports Center in Charlottesville.
