After a strong win over William & Mary to start the season, Virginia looked to continue its winning ways last weekend against Indiana. However, the Cavaliers (2-1, 0-0 ACC) were overwhelmed, losing 34-17 for their first loss of the season. Virginia looked to bounce back from that loss as they got ready to take on Connecticut in its third game of the season at home.

The Huskies (1-0) won that contest 13-10 in Storrs, Conn.

After Augie Busch, former Virginia swimming and diving coach, decided to return to his alma mater Arizona last month, Virginia opened up its search for a new head coach. That search concluded this week, with Athletics Director Craig Littlepage announcing Monday that Todd DeSorbo has been named the new head coach of the men’s and women’s programs.

The accolades continue to pile up for two of Virginia football’s brightest stars, as senior free safety Quin Blanding and senior inside linebacker Micah Kiser were both named to the 2017 preseason Bronko Nagurski Trophy Watch List late last week.

Malcolm Brogdon ended his basketball career at Virginia in illustrious fashion last year, capturing ACC Player of the Year, ACC Defensive Player of the Year, and first-team All-America honors. Brogdon began his NBA career in similar fashion, winning the 2017 Kia NBA Rookie of the Year award Monday night.

The Virginia men’s lacrosse team saw its season come to an end in disappointing fashion Saturday as it lost to Penn for the second time this season in a 17-11 affair. After losing to Penn (7-5, 3-3 Ivy) 11-10 in their first meeting earlier this season, Virginia (8-7, 0-4 ACC) was looking to change things this time around and end the regular season on a high note.

The No. 18 Virginia men’s lacrosse team went into Saturday’s match against No. 8 Duke looking to pick up its first ACC win of the season and to end the regular season on a high note. However, the Cavaliers (8-6, 0-4 ACC) were unable to accomplish their goal, with with the Blue Devils (10-3, 3-1 ACC) proving to be too much to handle. Duke continued its strong season and beat Virginia thoroughly by the score of 20-11.

Virginia (7-4, 0-2 ACC) did just that Tuesday night, with the team returning to Klöckner Stadium in triumphant fashion and thoroughly dominating the visiting Cleveland State Vikings (3-8) in a 20-7 win.
