After a tumultuous offseason for the Virginia football program marked by the termination of four coaches, the transfer of junior quarterback Michael Rocco and the departure of offensive coordinator Bill Lazor for the Philadelphia Eagles, Cavalier fans finally have something to cheer about.

Brooks, Johnson rep Virginia in Super Bowl

Former Virginia stars Ahmad Brooks and Cam Johnson represented the Cavaliers in Sunday’s Super Bowl, both playing linebacker for the losing San Francisco 49ers. Starting alongside Pro Bowlers Patrick Willis and Navorro Bowman, Brooks registered five tackles in the 49ers’ 31-34 defeat to the Baltimore Ravens.

One day after the former Cavalier assistant announced he would be leaving the University to become quarterbacks coach for the Philadelphia Eagles, London has announced that former Colorado State head coach Steve Fairchild will replace Lazor as offensive coordinator.
