Ceremony remembers lives lost during 9/11 attacks

Young Americans for Freedom at U.Va, along with the Burke Society and Student Council, commemorated the 15th anniversary of the September 11 attack by holding a Never Forget Ceremony and planted flags on the lawn in remembrance of the lives which were lost.


French has been working with the University's SHANTI program to create a digital memorial of Vinegar Hill.

City Council to consider Vinegar Hill proposal

Charlottesville Historic Resources Committee members have proposed the development of a park by the Omni Charlottesville Hotel downtown to commemorate Vinegar Hill, an African-American neighborhood demolished during the 1960s under the Federal Urban Renewal Program.


Student Council passed the resolutions at its Tuesday night meeting.
