While looking ahead to Saturday's game against Clemson, Virginia football coach George Welsh also took time to reflect on his team's performance against Duke yesterday. Moses swims his way to silver in Olympics

Early yesterday morning, U.S. swimmer Ed Moses was half a world away, applying the finishing strokes to a performance that earned him an Olympic silver medal in the men's 100-meter breaststroke. Moses, a third-year College student who swam for the Cavaliers for two seasons, finished in 1 minute, 0.73 seconds, only 27 hundredths of a second behind Italy's Domenico Fioravanti.

Cavalier seniors earn preseason tennis rankings

After posting successful seasons in the spring, Virginia tennis players Brian Vahaly and Huntley Montgomery earned national collegiate preseason rankings for the 2000-01 season. Vahaly is ranked third in the nation for singles and Montgomery is 27th.
