Women’s tennis set to host ITA Kickoff Weekend

The Virginia Women’s Tennis team plays host to the ITA Kickoff Weekend starting Friday in Charlottesville. The tournament, which will be held at the Boar’s Head Sports Club, will feature the Cavaliers as the top seed of their own individual bracket alongside opponents Columbia, Maryland and Brigham Young.


An emotional Bronco Mendenhall address the media a couple of hours after BYU annouced that Mendenhall was leaving to go and coach at Virginia University. Mendenhall spent most of the press conference with his eyes closed, looking down and wiping away tears.

After years of pleading, the “Fire Mike London” campaign finally fulfilled its mission last Sunday. The movement started quietly after a 4-8 2012 season and steadily garnered a larger and larger following — myself included — after the three losing seasons that followed.

Although the Virginia men’s basketball team still ranked 11th nationally in scoring defense entering Saturday’s contest against William & Mary, the No. 10 Cavaliers had won differently. Hindered by new rule changes, Virginia (7-1) had garnered more attention for its offensive rather than defensive efficiency.
