Virginia looks to top elated Terrapins

Coming off an emotional alumni weekend victory over N.C. State, the Virginia men's tennis team looks to make it two in a row, overall and in the ACC, when they travel to Maryland this afternoon to take on the Terrapins at 2:30 in the Tennis Center in College Park, Md. Momentum from the amazing comeback would give the Cavaliers (10-9, 1-5 ACC) an edge on most days, but Maryland (7-7, 1-4) is coming off an even greater accomplishment - the Terrapins won their first ACC match in 10 years Sunday when they beat that same Wolfpack team, 4-3. Maryland, who is the only school in the ACC without a scholarship player on their roster, had not won an ACC match since 1992, when they upset N.C.

Virginia edges by N.C. State for first ACC victory

It was hard for the Virginia men's tennis team (10-9, 1-5 ACC) to put Saturday's victory over North Carolina State (4-16) into words. The emotional win was important not just because it was their first in-conference win of the season, or because the win broke their four match losing streak.

Virginia falls again to rival Dukes

HARRISONBURG, Va. - Yesterday's scenery was new, but the result was definitively the same. The Virginia baseball team (16-14, 5-4 ACC) - who lost to James Madison (21-7) at home Monday - traveled to Harrisonburg yesterday, only to have the Dukes give them the same message, and deliver it even louder. The Cavaliers fell by a margin of 13-4, eight runs more than they allowed the previous afternoon.
