One of the many blockbusters this summer was the science fiction flick, District 9, produced by Peter Jackson and directed by Neill Blomkamp. The basic story revolves around an alien relocation program in a fictionalized version of Cape Town, South Africa during the 1960s and 1970s.

District 9 - This summer surprise hit the sci-fi bulls-eye while offering some interesting social commentary as well. Green Day, "21 Guns" - A power ballad courtesy of Billie and Co. that recalls their earlier work, this record has us busting out our lighters. Who's Out? Sean Kingston, "Fire Burning" - The only things burning once these merciless four minutes are up are our ears. Late Summer Movies - Wake us up sometime in late September when studios start releasing the good stuff again. The Music Buying Public - While on one hand we appreciate that the Black Eyed Peas were finally knocked off the No.
