Cavs stumble in ITA finals

Although a number of players on the Virginia men's and women's tennis teams reached the final rounds of the ITA Atlantic Regional earlier this week, they failed to capture a single title. Junior Jarmere Jenkins and the duo of senior Drew Courtney and junior Julien Uriguen reached the final round for the Cavalier men in Charlottesville, but all suffered untimely losses with the ultimate prize on the line.

The No. 17 Virginia women's tennis team recorded two upset victories against No. 12 Clemson and No. 13 Georgia Tech this past weekend to clinch a first-round bye in this week's ACC Tournament. With the wins, the Cavaliers (18-6, 7-4 ACC) set a new school record for conference wins with seven, matched their previous single season win record with 18 and collected the first road wins against top-15 opponents in program history. The No. 18 Virginia women's tennis team closes its regular season against Clemson and Georgia Tech this weekend, seeking a first-round bye at the upcoming ACC Tournament.
