Cavs seek to rebound versus pesky Jackets

Third-place Georgia Tech is the women's basketball team to beat as Virginia tries to regroup from Thursday's 73-65 loss at Clemson.

Against the Tigers, the Cavaliers (12-10, 5-6 ACC) led by four with 10 minutes remaining but could not hold on. With the loss, Virginia fell to fifth place in the ACC.

Tonight's game comes a day after Duke clinched the regular season conference title, but plenty remains at stake. The Yellow Jackets (14-8, 7-5) and the Cavaliers will be jockeying for better position in the ACC tournament come early March.

The Cavaliers also will be looking to prove that they can compete in the talented ACC. Virginia lost the last meeting between these two teams by the lopsided margin of 92-61 on Jan. 10.

To this point of the season, Virginia has had particular trouble against the conference elite, losing all six of its games against in-conference teams that outranked them.
