Sports in Brief

Virginia swimmer Bo Greenwood was named ACC men's swimmer of the week yesterday. Greenwood, a freshman from Goochland High School in Manakin, posted two career best times in the Cavalier's 137-104 victory over Pittsburgh on Sunday. His time of one minute, 50.02 seconds in the 200-meter individual medley, good enough for an NCAA "B" qualifying time, was fourth best in the ACC this season. Also fourth best in the ACC was Greenwood's 200 backstroke time, 1 minute, 48 seconds, which earned him second place in that event.

  • The 6-foot-8, 225-pound Hendrix has been sidelined since Jan. 12 with a stress fracture of his right foot, and doctors recently said he will miss the rest of this season. According to Clemson Coach Larry Shyatt, Hendrix was an active player who ran the floor well, but he still needed to develop touch and a perimeter game.
